Richard E. Stage

Richard "Richie" E. Stage, loving husband of Linda L. (Harder) Stage, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026, at his home in Gary, Indiana. A lifetime resident of the Northwest Indiana region since birth. 

Richard was born to and preceded in death by his father, Frank Stage; mother, Dolores (Steele) Stage; sisters, Dolores and Donna, and brother, Robert.

Anyone who met "Richie" never forgot his infectious passion for gardening, attending swap meets and auctions, tinkering with lawn mowers, vacuum cleaners, etc. "Richie" loved animals, especially his "little baby" Sarah, a mischievous ankle biter and yapper.

Richard is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Linda; his precious doggy, Sarah; and numerous cousins; nieces; and nephews

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 25, 2026, 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408. Family will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to proceed to Ridgelawn Cemetery 4401 West Ridge Road for interment.
